Greg Greene’s Kickboxing Academy was established in 1971 to address the need for a martial arts school that focused on practical and realistic self-defense. The Academy was and is still a reaction to the profit-oriented schools taught by instructors with no practical street fighting experience, and little or no full-contact experience. Mr. Greene continues to be vocal about students from these schools who may be at risk of serious injury or death due to a lack of pragmatic street fighting experience and more importantly a false sense of security.

Originally Greg Greene’s Academy took an extreme approach to full contact training, requiring all students to engage in full contact sparring. As the academy has evolved and as Mr. Greene has adapted to the needs of his students, he now offers customized training solutions and a safe environment in which students can challenge themselves.

Greg Greene’s Kickboxing is not a competition school. We do not train our students to compete for points, but for realistic street confrontations.

We honor a strict code of ethics and respect. As much as we try to emulate the various situations a street confrontation might present, we do not want to intimidate, or frighten the students. Greg Greene’s allows the student to experience hand-to-hand combat at a gradual pace, which they can control.

We have trained thousands of students in practical and realistic self-defense. Our demographic covers every type of ethnic and financial background. Our system has definitely created great fighters, but together we have become better people.

Greg Greene's philosophy:
Walk away rather than hurt. Hurt rather than maim. Maim rather than kill. Kill rather than be killed. Self-defense is a legal right.
